The Wallace Foundation, a long-time NASBE partner, has released a new report by the RAND Corporation that looks at how seven states—California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Virginia—have used policy to try to improve the principalship. Drawing on previous research, the authors identify key policy levers, from updating principal job standards to changing administrator licensing, that states can pull to promote principal quality. On Thursday, December 17, from 3:00-4:00 pm ET, lead author Susan M. Gates from the RAND Corporation joins NASBE President and CEO Robert Hull for a webinar to discuss the report and considerations for state board members and other state leaders.
