Early Childhood Education Summit

The pandemic disrupted learning for all students but especially for the youngest learners, many of whom struggled in a virtual environment not well suited to their social, emotional, and academic development. These learning losses, coupled with decreased kindergarten enrollment, exacerbated many longstanding challenges in early childhood education (ECE), such as workforce development and ensuring high-quality state programs.

Federal COVID relief funds give states the opportunity to address these early learning challenges and expand statewide initiatives. The American Families Plan also includes a package of childcare subsidies and support for free universal pre-K. Join the National Association of State Boards of Education for a virtual Early Childhood Education Summit on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:30 pm ET, as national experts discuss the challenges facing ECE and the strategies and resources states can tap to meet them. Participants will learn from other state board colleagues about barriers to effective ECE policymaking and potential solutions.
