  • Boardsmanship Reviews offer practical ideas on how to become a better member of a state board of education.
  • Members who are new to their boards and those seeking to refresh their knowledge can refer to the New Member Handbook, a curated selection of NASBE governance resources.
  • How does education governance differ from state to state? NASBE regularly updates two resources that detail and track state education governance models.
  • State Board Insight. Data and trend analyses drawn from state boards’ monthly meeting agendas, materials, and minutes. 
  • School Health Policy Database. Aligns state statutory and regulatory language on student health to the components of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s framework for school health promotion, known as the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model.
  • For more than 60 years, NASBE has been the only national organization devoted solely to serving state boards of education. Our history is detailed in “NASBE at 60: State Boards Reflect the History of Public Education in America.”
